AI bots have, unfortunately, been absolutely hammering some sites, scraping them for their data with no regard for throttling. Essentially, they are performing distributed denial of service [DDoS] attacks on sites to steal their content for their models. There are good bots that identify themselves as an AI bot, and that makes blocking them painless; however, many of the AI bots are doing their best to look like legitimate users.
If you are receiving constant 503 errors and/or your site is consistently slow without you having made any changes, there is a good possibility that AI bots are hammering your site.
You can verify this in your cPanel by accessing the "Resource Usage" option and clicking on "Current Usage". If it looks like the image below, you are probably under attack by AI Bots.
